Support Scholars at Silliman University
– A coin bank project of the SAAI

Mechanics:

Each label has a designated number for monitoring purposes. The Silliman Alumni Association, Inc. (SAA) will be in-charge of the distribution of the coin banks. In the Philippines, SAAI will provide the cans with the labels. These will be sent to the different alumni chapter presidents. For foreign coin banks, the labels will be sent to the alumni chapter presidents. The alumni chapter will be requested to buy cans to put the labels on.

Active members of the alumni chapter will be given a coin bank each. The coin banks will be returned to the alumni president by early March (graduation) or August (Founders’ Day celebration). The alumni chapter president, secretary and treasurer will open the can and count the money. For accounting purposes, the name of the alumnus/alumna who solicited the funds, the number of the can, the amount in the can, and sum total of all money collected must be reported in a form sent with the coin banks/labels. The names and signatures of the officers and the date of counting must also be included. The alumni chapter can issue a check and send it to the Business and Finance Office of Silliman University or deposit the amount through Bank of the Philippine Islands Account #1081-000-3-16, then fax a copy of the deposit slip to: (63)(35)225-4764.

If a person loses a can, the alumni member will pay P1,500.00 (Philippines) or US$150.00 (foreign). If a person wants a receipt for the gift, he/she must write his/her name address on a piece of paper where the money is enclosed.
