Silliman Alumni Dormitory
The Alumni Hall is located at the East Quadrangle of the Main Campus of Silliman University. The construction of the Alumni Hall, made possible by the Silliman alumni in the Philippines and friends in the U.S., was completed in 1956. It was initially erected in 1950.
The rooms on its second floor are designated for alumni and guests, while the ground floor is occupied by the office of the Alumni Affairs and the Alumni Association.
Accommodation
This Dormitory offers all air-conditioned rooms. Each room is with toilet and bath. Cable Television is provided.
Exclusivity
Accommodation in this Dormitory is primarily exclusive for Silliman Alumni and former students. However, it is also used as a guesthouse for University guests, including the parents and guests of our students on campus.
Reservations
In view of the limited number of rooms, reservations for incoming guests are expected at least a week in advance.
Conduct/Behavior
We are within the University Campus and there are academic classrooms nearby and offices downstairs. We would therefore request your utmost cooperation in observing University rules and regulations, most specifically on noise, smoking and drinking.
Room Key
Your room key is given to you for the duration of your stay. However, please do not fail to leave it with the Dormitory Assistant at the end of your stay. To replace losses of keys, the guest will have to be duly charged extra amount to cover the cost of a new lock.
Room Service
We regret the absence of room service. However, any of our guests could secure the help of the Dormitory Assistant whose room is on the ground floor or of any staff in the Alumni Office nearby.
Housekeeping Service
Cleaning of rooms will be done every other day and our housekeeper may enter your room at certain times of the day when you may be out. Change of linens is done every fourth day.
Electricity
Rooms 1 to 8 are provided with 220V and 110V convenience outlets for your appliances. Rooms 9, 10 & 11 have 220V outlets only.
Brownouts
We sometimes experience brownouts. However, Silliman University has its own standby power.
Water Supply
We have enough water supply in this Dorm. However, where there is a brownout, supply of water will be automatically shut off, also, there are times when water supply is shut off especially in the evening; pails are provided in your bathroom for emergency use.
Meals/Snacks
Meals or snacks are always available at the University Cafe nearby. They are open daily from 6:30 A.M. up to 6:30 P.M. except Sundays. Bringing of food in your room is not allowed.
Personal Guest/s
Outsiders/Personal friends must be entertained at the lounge area.
Fire Exit
Fire Exit is found at the end wing of the building. Door must be opened only during an emergency.
Electricity
Please support our energy conservation drive by putting off aircon units and lights when not in use.
